The step most beginners skip after finishing their pixel bead artwork

You just finished your piece — don't touch it yet.

A lot of beginners ruin their work at this exact moment. Not while placing the beads, but right at the end.

The problem is the tape.

Here's the right way to do it: cut the tape off the table first, then press it onto your finished piece, then flip and peel off the pegboard.

If you take the whole sheet of tape and press it directly onto your piece while it's still on the table, both ends of the tape stick to the table at the same time. The moment you lift it, the pegboard pulls up unevenly, the beads shift, and your piece is ruined. Small areas you can still fix. Large areas — you're putting beads back one by one.

Once the tape is on, when you're peeling the end that was touching the table, press down on the table with your hand as you peel. Don't just yank it. That one move keeps everything in place.

Some people skip the tape entirely and just peel straight off. You can — but I wouldn't recommend it. The worst feeling is when your piece is perfect, and you ruin it in the very last step.

Cut the tape first. Press it on. Hold down the table as you peel. Three steps, and your piece is safe.
